The Fresno Women’s Network is proud to announce safety advocate, Martha Tessmer, as our guest speaker at the July Luncheon. Tessmer is a Madera-native, and a nationally-recognized speaker who has travelled across the United States to share her family’s story.

In 2007 Tessmer’s son was killed in a car accident. The driver was his girlfriend, both 17-year-old high school students. She was distracted by loud music, friends, and other hazards that drivers of all ages experience every day. Tessmer found it within herself to help her son’s girlfriend avoid a lifetime in prison for taking her son’s life, and instead the two have founded an incredible relationship to share their story with others.
Tessmer will be speaking to the Fresno Women’s Network on the topic of distracted driving this July. She is a safety advocate for the nationwide program
Impact Teen Drivers; which focuses on teens and parents and highlights the dangers and consequences of distracted driving. This luncheon will prove to be moving and educational for all luncheon guests, and a special opportunity to include your daughter, niece, cousin, or any special young woman in your life in your Fresno Women’s Network activities.
